Take Courage

I couldn't be more sure - the One I've trusted in can take care of what He's trusted me to do right to the end. - 2 Timothy 1:12 MSG

So we're not giving up. How could we! Even though on the outside it often looks like things are falling apart on us, on the inside, where God is making new life, not a day goes by without His unfolding grace. These hard times are small potatoes compared to the coming good times, the lavish celebration prepared for us. There's far more here than meets the eye. The things we see now are here today, gone tomorrow. But the things we can't see now will last forever. - 2 Corinthians 4:16-18 MSG

O beloved, I plead with you, not to treat God's promises as something to be displayed in a museum but to use them as everyday sources of comfort, and whenever you have a time of need TRUST THE LORD. - C.H. Spurgeon (2 Peter 1:4)

The seasons change and you change, but the Lord abides evermore the same, and the streams of His love are as deep, as broad, and as full as ever. - C.H. Spurgeon

Of one thing I am perfectly sure; God's story never ends with ashes.  - Elisabeth Elliot

Things are not left to chance: Blind fate does not rule the world. God has purposes and those purposes are fulfilled. God has plans, and those plans are wise and can never be dislocated. - C.H. Spurgeon

Joseph named his second son Ephraim, for he said, "God has made me fruitful in this land of my grief." - Genesis 41:52

For this I bless you as the rain falls -- the pains you give me are more precious than all other gains. - C.S. Lewis

I have learned to kiss the waves that throw me upon the rock of ages. - C. H. Spurgeon

Imagine yourself as a living house. God comes in to rebuild that house. At first, perhaps, you can understand what He is doing. He is getting the drains right and stopping the leaks in the roof and so on; you knew that those jobs needed doing so you are not surprised.

But presently He starts knocking the house about in a way that hurts abominable and does not seem to make any sense. What on earth is He up to?

The explanation is that He is building quite a different house from the one you thought of -- throwing out a new wing here, putting an extra floor there, running up towers, making courtyards.

You thought you were being made into a decent little cottage; but He is building a palace. He intends to come and live in it Himself. - C.S. Lewis

You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives. - Genesis 50:20
